SmartDuct

A high density glass mineral wool based composite material designed to meet specific requirements in the HVAC equipment industry. SMART DUCT is available in a standard range, all ready-faced to both surfaces:
  • the surface which will form the external face of the duct has a reinforced aluminium foil facing which will act as a vapour barrier and ensure that the duct is air-tight
  • the surface that will form the inner face of the duct, and which will be in contact with the airstream, has a facing of either aluminium, glass cloth, depending on the properties required for the duct



  • APPLICATION
    As a replacement for the conventional ductwork system, the GI free ductwork system fabricated from ECOWOOL is ideal for heating or air-conditioning in commercial buildings, hypermarkets, factories, and offices

  • THERMAL PERFORMANCE
    Test according to ASTM C518 at 23°C and 20°C mean temperature. Thermal conductivity at 0.0309 W/mK
  • ACOUSTICAL PERFORMANCE
    Type ‘A’ Mounting, tested in accordance with ASTM C 423
  • FIRE PROPERTIES
    Tested in accordance and comply with (plain/unfaced):
    • B.S. 476: Part 4 Non-combustibility test for materials
    • B.S. 476: Part 6 Fire propagation
    • B.S. 476: Part 7 Surface spread of flame
    • ASTM E84
    • NFPA 90A and NFPA 90B
    • Fire Hazard classification 25/50
    • Bomba Class ‘O’
    • AS 1530 : Part 3-1982

  • AVAILABLE FORMS
    Woven Glass Fabric - A factory laminated facing to the interior surface of the board. This lightweight, high-tensile strength fabric which will not rot, tear or wear

    Aluminium Glass Cloth - A factory laminated facing to the exterior surface of the board. It offers excellent tensile strength either MD or XD
