ECOWOOL Batts

ECOWOOL batts Insulation is stiffened to fit snugly between standard spacing wall studs – both timber and steel – without sagging and should be installed at the time of construction before fixing internal lining.



  • PROPERTIES
    The batts are compatible with wood or steel studs in ceiling and walls. The sound control batts can effectively increase STC ratings by 8 to 10 points. Use of resilient channels can make wall assemblies even more efficient by increasing STC values by as much as 4 to 5 points depending on the construction:
    • Wood frame construction – residential homes and light commercial buildings
    • Metal frame construction – commercial buildings
    • Manufactured homes – modular or manufactured housing
    • Engineered wood construction – assemblies framed with 305 mm to 488 mm on-center cavities, wide-spaced wood trusses or I-joists
    • Suspended ceiling systems – sized to fit above 0.61m x 1.22m ceiling panels
    • Interior wall sound control – interior walls, floor and ceiling assemblies

  • THERMAL PERFORMANCE
    Test according to ASTM C518 at 23°C and 20°C mean temperature. Thermal conductivity as low as 0.032 W/mK
  • ACOUSTICAL PERFORMANCE
    Type ‘A’ Mounting, tested in accordance with ASTM C 423
  • FIRE PROPERTIES
    Tested in accordance and comply with (plain/unfaced):
    • B.S. 476: Part 4 Non-combustibility test for materials
    • B.S. 476: Part 6 Fire propagation
    • B.S. 476: Part 7 Surface spread of flame
